Here's what we will be learning this week in Mr. Johnson's class:

Math:
Place Value- understanding number lines, counting on the number line, comparing numbers, ordering numbers

Reading/Language Arts:
Reading- Chinese culture texts, character descriptions, how characters affect story events
Guided Reading- practicing literacy stations procedures, spelling contract
Writing- begin setting up Writer's Workshop notebooks, creating writing topics for the year

Social Studies:
Regions of South Carolina- descriptions of regions, river systems, major cities, study guide/review, test on Friday, August 20th
**study guide will be sent home on Tuesday in student's social studies folder but will be completed at school.

Science:
Introducing science topics for year and organizing science journals.
The first unit will begin next week: Plant and Animal Adaptations.
