Here's what we are learning this week:
Reading: Publishing Animal Research Projects; Book Clubs; Guided Reading Stations
Spelling: TBA, test on Thursday.
Science: Begin Class Science Fair Project. Here's a video I created several years ago that we will be using (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60__fHx9NFU)
Social Studies: Exploration of People Groups: English, Huguenots, European Jews, German Scotch-Irish (Study guides coming home)
Math: Division (review lessons 7-2:Division as Repeated Subtraction, 7-3:Finding Missing Numbers in Multiplication Table, 7-4: Problem Solving: Choose an Appropriate Equation, 7-5: Writing Division Stories).

Mr. Johnson will not be at school on Friday, January 8th and Monday, January 11th. He will be running in the Disney Marathon race, the Goofy Challenge, that he's been training for since July 1st. This race includes a half marathon on Saturday (13.1 miles) and a full marathon on Sunday (26.2 miles).
Please send any important notes with your child to give to the teacher.
